The latest Windows 11 update was supposed to fix several bugs, but is itself the victim of a minor technical issue. In fact, for many users, this results in an error message stating that the installation did not take place. A problem that we noticed in the Phonandroid editorial team.
It’s an observation that’s as amusing as it is bitter: with every update that fixes bugs in Windows, new ones appear. Some are relatively harmless, but others can be particularly disabling. The latest OS update is obviously no exception, with many users reporting that they simply cannot install it.
Although the error messages vary from case to case, the result is always the same: the download cannot be completed or the installation does not start. We ourselves experienced this error in the Phonandroid editorial team. When we started the update, we were greeted by a mysterious error code 0x80073701c.
Windows 11 no longer wants to update? you are not alone
As can be seen in the screenshot above, this error message simply indicates that the update could not be installed and asks us to try again without any further details. Also note that the update was carried out without any problems on another PC in the editorial office. Therefore, it is currently difficult to determine the cause of the problem or even whether it is very widespread or not.

However, several Windows Latest readers have reported a similar experience. One of them explains that the download gets stuck at 97% before automatically restarting. On the other hand, those who have succeeded in the update are reporting problems with some of their games, especially those obtained through the Epic Games Store, which are now being refused publication.
Microsoft currently does not offer a solution. If you notice any problems with this update, we recommend that you wait a bit before installing it or, if you have already done so, reverting to a previous version of the operating system. Here is the list of error codes retrieved from Windows Latest:
