We know the famous Galaxy Tab S from Samsung, but the manufacturer doesn’t just sell high-end models. The Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+ have just been introduced, which are said to be cheaper than their big sisters.
We knew Samsung for its huge Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with its very (very) large screen. However, the manufacturer doesn’t just sell this touchscreen tablet. Samsung has introduced smaller but also cheaper models with the Galaxy Tab A9 and the Galaxy Tab A9+. They are currently not available on the manufacturer’s French website.
The Galaxy Tab A9: the basic Samsung-style tablet
With its 8.7-inch screen, this touchscreen tablet has a small format that almost fits in one hand (a large one, nonetheless). It has the same format as the Realme Pad Mini, a really affordable tablet. The resolution is 1,340 x 900 pixels (i.e. WXGA+). There are two photo sensors: one with 8 Mpx on the back and one with 2 Mpx for selfies.
To power all this we have at our disposal a 5100 mAh battery.

Only two speakers on the device, which can limit the audio experience when watching films and series with it. There is a multitasking mode to only display up to two applications at the same time. There are two versions of the tablet: one with 64 GB of storage, the other with 128 GB. Storage can be expanded via microSD card (up to 1 additional TB).
Galaxy Tab A9+: slightly larger, slightly more expensive
For its part, the “+” version has a slightly larger screen: 11 inches, like the base Galaxy Tab S9. In contrast to the smaller model, this one has a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz and a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. It is this version that also has the right to four speakers to benefit from Dolby Atmos.
On the photography side, there is an 8 Mpx rear sensor and a 5 Mpx selfie sensor. The battery has a capacity of 7040 mAh.

Despite the rather reduced price, one of its versions has 5G connectivity, so you can use it on the go without having to create a connection share with your smartphone. Samsung seems to want to move into the upper class with this tablet, as the best-equipped version like the Tab A9 can have up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
This also applies to compatibility with Samsung DeX, which allows the tablet to be used with an interface and ergonomics similar to that of a laptop. You can also divide the screen into three parts to use multiple applications at the same time.
Price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+
These two tablets are available in three colors: charcoal, silver and navy blue. At the moment they only seem to be sold in Morocco:
- The Galaxy Tab A9 starts at 1990 dirhams, around 180 euros;
- The Galaxy Tab A9+ starts at 3,490 dirhams, or around 315 euros.
However, the fact that Samsung France is issuing a press release about these two tablets suggests that they will also be available in France.
