GeForce RTX 4X Super should spice up Nvidia's CES? – 01net

The launch of Nvidia’s next GPUs is getting closer. It would be scheduled for January during CES. And rumors about the next product range are already piling up.

Nvidia’s Super series was introduced in 2019 to compete with AMD’s Radeon RX series and should be off to a masterful start to the year. In fact, there are rumors that Nvidia would use CES to launch a new line of GPUs under the “Super” banner.

Until now, Nvidia’s “Super” graphics cards were equipped with more powerful graphics chips than conventional graphics cards, as well as more video memory and higher frequencies, with the obvious consequence: superior performance in games.

Great graphics cards

An example: The GeForce RTX 2060 Super is equipped with a TU106-410 graphics chip, while the GeForce RTX 2060 is equipped with a TU106-310 graphics chip, it also has 8 GB of video memory compared to 6 GB and the clock frequencies are also higher.

Expected specifications

Although exact details such as clock speed are not yet known, initial information from a few days before the likely launch seems to indicate this:

  • The RTX 4070 Super would integrate the AD104 GPU with 7,168 CUDA cores, 12GB of memory and a TDP of 225W. In comparison, the current RTX 4070 has 5,888 CUDA cores, 12GB VRAM and a TDP of 200W.
  • The RTX 4070 Ti Super would integrate the AD103 GPU with 8,448 CUDA cores, a storage capacity of 16GB and a TDP of 285W. Currently, the RTX 4070 Ti integrates the AD104 GPU with 7,680 CUDA cores, 12GB VRAM and a TDP of 285W.
  • And the RTX 4080 Super would also integrate the AD103 GPU with 10,240 CUDA cores, 16GB of memory and a TDP of 320W. In comparison, the current RTX 4080 integrates 9,728 CUDA cores, 16 GB of VRAM and a TDP of 320 W.

Speculation suggests that all GeForce RTX 4X Super models could use 12VHPWR connectors without using the standard 8-pin connectors as is the case with the 4070 Ti and above.

If the rumors are to be believed, the catalog will then be updated with the RTX 4080 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super, which will replace the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4070 Ti, respectively. The RTX 4070 Super, in turn, could coexist with the RTX 4070 for several months.

divide and conquer

According to rumors collected by ITHome, the first presentation during CES 2024 could take place at the opening of the show on January 8th. According to this announcement, the RTX 4070 Super could launch on January 17th, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super a week later on January 24th, and finally the RTX 4080 Super would be released on January 31st. As for the price of this, we will have to wait for the official announcement.
