A doctor reveals 3 common actions to avoid if you care about your health – TVA Nouvelles

An American doctor recently went viral on TikTok thanks to a video viewed by 1.3 million internet users in which she lists several everyday actions that she would never do due to her medical experience.

Dr. Nicole Van Groningen is a graduate of the University of California and works as a general practitioner in Los Angeles. And in their opinion, certain common lifestyle habits are simply dangerous or detrimental to health.

Here are three things you shouldn’t do if you care about your health:

Get up early to exercise

Many people wake up earlier to go for a morning jog before work. But this habit is, according to Dr. Van Groningen not as healthy as it sounds.

“Don’t let any influencer tell you that reducing your sleep time is a good way to go to the gym and improve your fitness. Sleep is the first healthy life habit, period,” she claims.

After spending time in surgery during her studies, Dr. Nicole Van Groningen said she would never be caught riding a motorcycle

“There are so many safety features in cars these days: the interior, the windows and the doors. “Why would you give up all that?” she declares.

The latter also believes that wearing a helmet is crucial when cycling.

“There are certain screams from family members that I will never forget and I will never ride a bike without a helmet,” says the doctor.

Prefer the “natural approach” everywhere.

Dr. Van Groningen also believes that some people go too far in their desire to adopt a “natural” lifestyle.

This underscores the importance of wearing sunscreen as well as the benefits of vaccines, antibiotics and other medical advances that ended an era in which many people died because they were not treated like people are today.
